Sinfin man denied epilepsy tablets in police cell

A man who had an epileptic seizure in a police cell because he was denied access to his medication says he is "appalled".

Daniel Cunningham, 26, who was in custody over a minor theft offence, said he warned officers he would have a fit if he could not take his tablets.

Derbyshire Police said they follow strict procedures when someone is in custody to ensure their safety.

The force said because Mr Cunningham's tablets were not in a box - they could not be verified as prescribed medication.
