Family spend £70,000 making 1950s home eco-friendly

A family have said spending about £70,000 on bringing their 1950s home up to one of the highest eco-friendly standards has reduced their energy bills.

The owners said they will get their money back because it has helped to increase the value of the property.

BBC East Midlands Today's Mike O'Sullivan spoke to homeowner Kate Ball and Jon Bootland, chief executive of Passivhaus Trust, which promotes low energy design.
