Volunteer bakers make more than 300 cakes for children

Volunteer bakers in the East Midlands have made more than 300 cakes for children.

The latest creation by Free Cakes for Kids, a national charity with a branch in Nottingham, was for Lewis Robinson's eighth birthday.

Lewis, from Long Eaton, Derbyshire, has emotional and developmental problems after an ear infection caused him to develop the serious brain condition, encephalitis.

The charity said there are more than 200 volunteers, who bake cakes for children in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
