Prince William says Andrew Smyth should have won GBBO

Great British Bake Off runner-up Andrew Smyth presented Prince William with a cake during the future monarch's first official visit to Derby.

The Duke of Cambridge told Mr Smyth that he "should have won" the baking competition and added he would "have a word" with co-host Mary Berry.

William was visiting Rolls-Royce in Derby, where Mr Smyth works as an aerospace engineer.

The prince also visited Bombardier carriage works, where he drove a train.
