'Devon air' helped win book award

Award-winning author Hilary Mantel has said the "good Devon air" contributed to her winning the 2012 Costa novel prize.

The author, from Budleigh Salterton, told BBC Radio Devon she was "delighted" her book Bring Up The Bodies, the second in a trilogy, won the prize.

In 2012 she became the first living author to win two Man Booker Prizes, the first of which was for her prequel, Wolf Hall, and the second for Bring Up The Bodies, a historical novel about Thomas Cromwell.
