A motorised shopping trolley adapted by a Plymouth man has reached a speed of 44mph at the Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire.

Matt McKeown, 52, from Plymouth, stabilised the trolley by using go-kart wheels.

Mr McKeown said he would inform Guinness World Records of his speed as the existing record was 42mph (67km/h).
