Eleventh World Bellyboard Championships held in Cornwall

About 400 men and women have taken to the water off Cornwall for the 11th World Bellyboard Championships.

Bellyboarders from across England, and some from as far away as the United States, took part in the event at Chapel Porth, near St Agnes, on Sunday.

The annual event has been hosted by the National Trust since 2003 and aims to celebrate more than 100 years of surfing in the UK.

Many of the competitors wore bathing costumes from a bygone age.
