Cyclist rescued from flooded River Teign in Devon

A cyclist has been rescued after being swept away in a tributary of the flooded River Teign in Newton Abbot, Devon.

Eyewitnesses filmed as firefighters tried to pull the man to safety.

Two crews from Newton Abbot and specialist rescue teams from Plymouth and Exmouth were sent to the scene in Jetty Marsh Road.

It is thought the man was in the water for about 40 minutes before being rescued uninjured. He was checked over by paramedics.
