Fat cat on swimming and diet regime to lose weight

A fat cat has been doing laps in a swimming pool in a bid to slim down.

The hydrotherapy pool in Plymouth has dogs on its books, but Charlie is the first cat to dip its paw in the water.

Owner Rosalyn Eyres has been taking the 11-year-old swimming once a fortnight since February and the exercise has been working.

He originally weighed 7.1kg (15.6lb) and has already lost 1kg (2.2lb) with a target of losing a further 2kg (4.4lb).
