Hometown mourns sailing hero Andrew Simpson

Leading figures from the world of sailing have attended the funeral of Olympic gold medallist Andrew Simpson.

Mr Simpson, 36, who was nicknamed "Bart", lived in Sherborne with his wife and two children. A service at Sherborne Abbey was followed by a reception at the town's castle.

The 2008 Beijing Olympic champion died when his catamaran flipped over during training for the America's Cup in San Francisco Bay.

Four-time Olympic gold medallist Ben Ainslie spoke to the media on behalf of Mr Simpson's family and friends.
