Dorset 'super council' proposal gets mixed reaction

A mixed reaction has been given to the idea of merging three Dorset councils into one so-called "super council".

The City of Poole Bay, as it has been dubbed, is being called for by a group called Uniting the Conurbation, which wants a single unitary authority for the area.

It argues the new council would boost the local economy and cut costs.

But some councils are keen to protect their local identity.
