Couple 'told to paint over their beach hut graphics'

A couple from Christchurch in Dorset say they have been told by the council to paint over the seaside graphics on their beach hut so that all the huts are "uniform".

Gordon and Janet Espley say it would be a great shame as their hut along Friars Cliff is much admired by locals and visitors alike.

Christchurch Borough Council says owners were obliged to "comply with the agreed licence conditions".

It will make a final decision on whether the Espleys have to redecorate their hut at a meeting on 26 February.
