Mother's Facebook helmet appeal video goes viral

A woman has posted emotional appeals on social media after her daughter was critically injured when she fell off a skateboard.

Georgia Fairthorne, 19, from Bournemouth, suffered serious head injuries when she hit her head after coming off the board without wearing a helmet while on holiday in Pembrokeshire.

Her mother Emma posted Facebook videos urging parents to make sure their children wore helmets when riding skateboards and scooters.

The first has been viewed more than 900,000 times.
