Jay Whiston: Stabbed teen's mum talks of knife danger

The mother of a teenager stabbed to death at a house party in Essex has been visiting schools to tell young people about the danger of knives.

Jay Whiston, 17, died in hospital shortly after being attacked at a party in Marlowe Way on 8 September.

In May, 18-year-old Edward Redman, of Colchester, was charged with Jay's killing. He has denied murder.

On Thursday, Jay Whiston's mother, Caroline Shearer began a series of workshops talking to young people about the dangers of knives.
