Colchester Hospital: Chief executive goes 'by mutual consent'

The chief executive of a hospital under police investigation over alleged manipulation of cancer waiting times has resigned.

In a statement, Colchester Hospital NHS Trust said, by mutual consent, Dr Gordon Coutts would not return to his post after a period of sick leave.

It follows claims cancer waiting times at the hospital had been manipulated.
