Buttsbury Wash flooding: Pregnant woman and child rescued by Essex fire crews

A pregnant woman and her one-year-old child have been rescued from a car that got stuck in flood water in Essex.

The vehicle got stuck in 4ft (1.2m) water in Buttsbury Wash near Ingatestone at 19:15 GMT on Sunday.

The pair were unable to get out of the car and the fire control operator kept the mother calm until emergency services arrived.

Firefighters from Essex fire service's specialist water rescue team rescued them just before 19:40 GMT.
