Everest climber 'in tears' after carrying medal to summit
British climber Kenton Cool has successfully carried an Olympic gold medal to the top of Mount Everest.
He took the medal - from the 1924 Winter Games - to the summit, fulfilling a pledge made by a member of the 1922 British Everest expedition.
Speaking to BBC Radio Gloucestershire from Camp 3, he said it had been "amazing" and "emotional".
"When we got the medal out at the top I pretty much broke down in tears," he added.
