Woman convicted for role in Forest of Dean student's murder

The ex-wife of one of France's most notorious serial-killers has been convicted for her role in the 1990 murder of British student Joanna Parrish.

Monique Olivier, who is already serving a life sentence in jail, was on trial for her part in the rape and murder of two young women - 20-year-old Joanna Parrish and 18-year-old Marie-Angèle Domèce - and helping kidnap nine-year-old Estelle Mouzin, whose body has never been found.

Joanna was found dead in a river near the town of Auxerre.

The Leeds University student had been working as a gap-year English teacher.

On Tuesday Olivier was handed a second life sentence, with a minimum of 20 years.
