Rare wildflower blooms in ancient Herefordshire meadows
An extremely rare wildflower has appeared in ancient meadows in Herefordshire.
The snake's head fritillary only flowers during the month of April and grows in just 27 sites across Britain.
Its reptile-like head has popped up at Lugg Meadows.
Close inspection of the flower reveals a checked pattern like silvery scales.
