Saving Sissinghurst's literary past

Conservationists have begun work to restore what has been called Britain's most significant 20th Century in-situ book collection, at Sissinghurst Castle in Kent.

The castle was home to literary giants Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson, but the collection of more than 11,000 books is beginning to show its age.

The National Trust has begun a three-year project to restore the collection and ensure its continuing place in the history of the tourist attraction, which is especially popular among lovers of 20th-century literature.

National Trust adviser Caroline Bendix and paper and book conservator Sue Campion talk about the challenges of the project.
