Chatham Dockyard's closure 'was positive', concludes report

The closure of Chatham Dockyard 30 years ago has had a positive effect on the local area, according to a new report commissioned by the BBC.

The study found £900m worth of investment has transformed a community once dependent on the dockyard, to one more diverse with better opportunities.

BBC South East Today's Mark Norman interviewed former worker Barry Stevens, Professor Richard Scase, author of the report, and Richard Holdsworth, of the Historic Dockyard Chatham.
