Wayne Hemmingway stages Morecambe Vintage Festival

The glitz and glamour of bygone ages was on display in Morecambe as part of the 80th anniversary celebrations of the Midland Hotel.

Organisers hope the Vintage Festival, staged by fashion designer Wayne Hemmingway, will become an annual event.

The Grade II-listed The Streamline Moderne (a later type of art deco) was built by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS), in 1933, to the designs of architect Oliver Hill, with sculpture by Eric Gill.

It was restored by developers Urban Splash in 2006.
