Ancient skeleton set to leave Bacup for Llandudno return

A skeleton that dates back to 3510BC is leaving its Lancashire display and returning to north Wales.

"Blodwen" the Neolithic woman was found on Little Orme in Llandudno, Conwy county, in 1891.

She was in her late 50s or early 60s when she died and was about 5ft (1.52m).

The Lancashire engineer who stumbled across Blodwen while excavating quarry works donated her to the Bacup Natural History Society, where she has remained ever since.

However, later this month it is hoped she will be placed on permanent display in Llandudno following lengthy negotiations.
