Man describes time spent in coffin

A recovered drug addict and charity worker has spoken of his time spent buried in a coffin to raise awareness of deaths from addiction.

John Edwards was buried on Friday in Halifax and resurfaced on Monday.

During his time inside the coffin, which was streamed online, he spoke to people from all over the world, offering messages of support.

Mr Edwards told BBC Radio Leeds: "To stop people going to the grave, I thought I would get into one myself and talk to them from there."

The 61-year-old, who campaigns for the Walking Free, external charity, is now planning more live streaming events around the country.
