Barwick in Elmet maypole taken down for health check
A West Yorkshire village's 26m (86ft) maypole has been taken down for a health check, thanks to dozens of volunteers.
The Barwick in Elmet maypole has been painted and repaired every three years for decades.
Its colourful history includes being stolen in 1829, tumbling over in 1907 and held to ransom in 1966.
