Ashby de la Zouch lido sees visitor numbers boost

Leicestershire's last public open-air swimming pool has seen a boost in visitor numbers this summer thanks to the heatwave.

This time last year only 145 people had used the 1930s outdoor pool in Ashby de la Zouch, but this year figures have jumped to 3,632.

Councillor Alison Smith, from North West Leicestershire District Council said: "It is part of the heritage of Ashby and we have to preserve it."
