RAF Waddington plane spotters get Typhoon shock

Plane spotters in Lincolnshire got more than they bargained for when a Typhoon jet came into land at RAF Waddington - a little too close for comfort.

Coming in to land for the Waddington Air Show last Friday, it flew low and "just missed the perimeter fence", according to spectators.

In a statement, the RAF said the landing was "completely normal" and apologised for "any inconvenience".

In pictures taken by an eyewitness, a young boy is seen running for safety and a man is on the ground having jumped down from his ladder.

Christine Robinson, from the Sentry Post Snack Bar, said:" It can be very dangerous. If it had put its reheat on, there'd have been a lot of frazzled people that day."
