Lincolnshire father Mark Smith campaigns for bike helmets

A Lincolnshire father said he is campaigning for a law to force cyclists to wear helmets, after his son was involved in a crash on his bike.

Ryan Smith, 16, is in a coma, following the collision with a van on his ride to work near Chapel St Leonards.

He did not wear a helmet on the ride because he did not want to mess up his hair.

Mark Smith said he wishes his son had worn head protection and wants the law changed.

Gemma Dawson spoke to him.
