How cabbage hurling in Lincolnshire went 'global'

The organisers of the cabbage hurling championships have said they have been amazed by the interest it has generated around the world.

The contest, hosted by Holbeach Town and Country Fayre in Lincolnshire, requires participants to hurl the brassica crop into the air with a catapult-like machine.

The contest was the brainchild of John Ward, who said: "It actually amazed us, we didn't realise it would go global."
