Poppy project helps to bring Lincolnshire village together
More than 4,000 poppies have been knitted by people in a Lincolnshire village to mark Remembrance Day.
Villagers in Ropsley, near Grantham, and the surrounding area spent hours making the fabric flowers which now adorn the side of St Peter's Church.
Organised by the local Women's Institute, the project helped bring the community together during the Coronavirus pandemic.
One knitter Pam Hogan said it helped her deal with the isolation.
"During lockdown, especially in a small village, there's no passing traffic," she said. "There's nobody going by so you literally don't see anybody."
