Boris Johnson pledges to help 'squeezed middle' buy a home

Ahead of his speech at the Conservative Party conference on Tuesday, London Mayor Boris Johnson has pledged £100m to get people on to the property ladder after claiming the middle classes were being squeezed out of buying their own homes.

A leading housing charity says the funding will only scratch the surface and predicts an exodus of key London workers.
