Cold alarms for pensioners' homes in Merton

A south London council has begun to fit sensors in the homes of elderly people who live alone to help it monitor whether their properties are too cold.

The sensors alert council staff if the temperature dips below 15C and Merton Council has already installed 650 sensors.

Pensioner Mabel Endicott, Merton Council's Suzette Simon and Dot Gibson from National Pensioners' Association speak about how the winter months affect elderly people.
