GP shake-up to ease A&E pressures

Patients will be able to see their doctor within four hours of calling their local surgery under plans to ease pressures on A&E departments in London.

It comes as figures reveal that a third of people accessing casualty departments in the city are in their 20s and it is thought they are doing so, not because they have a genuine emergency, but because they are unable to get a convenient appointment during the week.
