Homeless Roma gypsies urged to leave London

Police and immigration officers have broken up a camp set up in Marble Arch by a group of Roma gypsies.

It follows complaints from residents over begging and anti-social behaviour.

Some of the group have agreed to return to Romania voluntarily- on a flight paid for by the British Government.

Ch Insp Louise Puddefoot from the Met and Paul Wylie from Immigration Enforcement talk about why they are urging them to leave the country, while Megan Stewart from Thames Reach, a homelessness charity, says whether she thinks many will take up the offer.

Nik Ward, from Rough Sleeping Services at Westminster Council, says one man told him that it was better to have nothing here than it was to have nothing in Romania.
