Most Tube and bus fares to rise with inflation

London Mayor Boris Johnson has announced that Tube, train and bus fares across the capital city are, on average, going up in line with inflation.

Some Tube season ticketholders will see a rise of 1% above inflation.

Mr Johnson said it was a lesser increase than people may have been expecting, however Val Shawcross, Labour member of the London Assembly, said the mayor had not dealt with the high cost of living.

Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat member of the London Assembly, said he should have made fares cheaper for people who work part time.
