Counting finishes in Tower Hamlets

Five days after the polls opened for the local elections the counting of votes in Tower Hamlets in east London has finally finished.

Labour has 20 seats in the recount, which was overseen tonight by the Electoral Commission after allegations of mismanagement.

But the council's returning officer has denied claims of mismanagement.

BBC London's Gareth Furby spoke to the Conservative group leader at the council Peter Golds, Green Party's Chris Smith, Labour's mayoral candidate for the borough John Biggs and the council's returning officer John Williams.
