Metal spikes to deter homeless people in Southwark block

London Mayor Boris Johnson has joined calls for metal spikes, designed to deter homeless people from bedding down outside a block of flats in Southwark, to be removed.

Homeless charities have also condemned the developer for placing them there as a petition calling on the mayor to get the spikes removed received more than 12,000 signatures.

John Bird, the founder of The Big Issue, and commentator Katie Hopkins, joined BBC London's Riz Lateef to discuss the issue.
