London receives £230m boost in government funding

The government has announced the capital will receive £230m in an effort to boost the local economy.

The funding will be the first instalment of a series of "Growth Deals" for local regions across England.

The money will go towards supporting local businesses, creating jobs, building new houses and local infrastructure improvements.
