WW1 centenary: The gigantic sorting office built to handle letters sent to soldiers

One of Britain's most effective weapons during World War One was morale.

A constant stream of letters was sent to troops around the world, and to cope with this a gigantic wooden sorting office employing 2,500 people was built in London.
