Queen opens Co-operative's 'green' headquarters

The Queen has visited Manchester in a tour taking in the opening of the Co-operative Group's new eco-friendly headquarters and an inner city youth centre.

Her Majesty unveiled a plaque at the Co-op's £100m offices, which house 3,500 staff.

She followed this with a trip to the Factory Youth Zone, in Harpurhey, which provides sport and art activities for about 2,500 young people aged between eight and 21 in one of the city's most deprived wards.
