Ricky Hatton leads team in Linzi Ashton charity football match

A team led by boxing legend Ricky Hatton has taken part in a charity football match in memory of a mother murdered by her boyfriend.

Linzi Ashton, 25, was beaten and strangled by Michael Cope, 28, at her home in Salford in June last year.

A team of former Manchester City players beat Hatton's side, made up of police officers, firefighters and probation workers.

The game, at Hyde FC's ground, raised money for Victim Support.
