'Bionic eye' trial aims to treat eyesight loss
A Manchester hospital is looking for volunteers to be fitted with a "bionic eye".
An implant at the back of the retina receives signals from a camera attached to a special pair of glasses worn by the user.
Volunteers are required for a study by Manchester Royal Eye Hospital into age-related macular degeneration that leads to loss of sight, mainly among people aged over 55.
