Manchester IRA bomb blast film made for 20th anniversary
A documentary commemorating twenty years since the IRA bombing in Manchester has been produced by a group of teenagers.
The group including Fiza Sajhid from the Factory Youth Zone in Harpurhey interviewed victims, ex-police officers, former Manchester City Council representatives and an ex-IRA member in Manchester and Belfast over nine months.
A bomb packed with 3,300lb of explosives was detonated inside a parked van in Corporation Street, near the Arndale Centre on 15 June 1996.
No-one was killed, but more than 200 people were injured and buildings were severely damaged.
After a screening on Saturday, the documentary will be sent to 31 secondary schools across Manchester for a six-part lesson plan about heritage and history.
