Shot trans girl, 11, 'grabbed by throat and kicked to the ground'
The mother of an 11-year-old transgender girl who was shot with a BB gun at school says her daughter was verbally and physically abused "every day".
She claims school dealt "very badly" with five months of "constant" bullying including her daughter being grabbed by the throat and kicked to the ground.
"All the sorts of things that happen when kids are extremely bullied seem heightened with her - they really, really don't like the fact that she's a transgender child," she said.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed it was investigating the shooting and the school said it took the attack "very seriously" and had expelled the pupil concerned.
