Novelist got inside Bill Shankly's head say ex-players

Countless biographies have been written about former Liverpool FC manager Bill Shankly.

But now there is a novel, Red or Dead, penned by David Peace who wrote The Damned United, a fictional account of Brian Clough's 44 days at Leeds United.

Former stalwarts of Shankly's team, Ian Callaghan and Willie Stevenson, gave their verdict on the fictional treatment of their former boss.
