Toddler walks home from nursery

A two-year-old girl left a nursery unnoticed and walked half a mile home on her own.

The girl left the nursery at about 13:00 BST on Wednesday and arrived home shortly after, saying: "Mummy, I'm home".

Police said a workman is believed to have left a door at the nursery open.

Her mother said: "I was absolutely fuming.....Anything could have happened."

The nursery has not commented.
