Missing John Lennon letter prompts Al Pacino movie
A letter to a British folk singer from John Lennon, which never reached him, has provided the inspiration for a Hollywood movie starring Al Pacino.
In 1971 Steve Tilston was an up-and-coming young folk singer when he gave an interview to Zigzag magazine, which prompted Lennon to write to him.
The letter never reached Steve who only found out about it when a collector rang him up from the States in 2005 to say he had bought it.
The publicity from that story caught the eye of Hollywood screenwriter Dan Fogelman
