Rare bears that inspired Paddington find new home in Knowsley

A rare species of bear that inspired the creation of the famous Paddington has made a new home at a wildlife park in the north west of England.

Two Andean bears, Bahia and Chui, are the newest residents at Knowsley Safari Park in Prescot.

The animals, which are at risk of extinction, have been moved there as part of a conservation programme.

Keeper Kristi McCormick said the pair were fond of honey and peanut butter, but were not so taken with marmalade.
