Bulldozers move in on clifftop homes at Happisburgh

Demolition has begun on nine houses at Happisburgh in Norfolk before they disappear into the sea.

The properties in Beach Road will be demolished over the next 12 weeks. In all, 26 homes have gone during years of erosion of the cliffs.

The first to go was Saltwood, bought 36 years ago by David and Jill Gilbert as a holiday home.
