Seals pups orphaned in sea surge prepare for wild

Dozens of orphaned seal pups rescued after December's tidal surge off the Norfolk coast are on the mend.

The pups, mostly from Blakeney and Winterton, are being cared for at the RSPCA's wildlife centre in East Winch.

In all 108 pups were taken to the centre and because they were so young they all needed hand feeding at regular intervals.

Nearly two months later, the team at East Winch hope the first of the tide surge seals in their care will be fit enough to be released back into the North Sea in February.
